Why Donate...
Addiction is the biggest preventable killer in the UK. It breaks up families, damages communities and destroys lives. In some way it touches us all.
Action on Addiction takes action to disarm addiction. We do this through research, treatment, family support, education and training.
You can help us to prevent the devastating effect of addiction on our children, families and friends. All donations will go towards our ground breaking research and treatment programmes.
How to Make a Donation...
There are a number of ways to donate. Find the option that best suits your needs and make a donation today!
We recommend the online facility
Justgiving because it is a simple, 100% safe and effective way to make donations to Action on Addiction.
Furthermore, the online website Justgiving enables you to make donations in a variety of different ways, including 'In Celebration' and 'In Memory' giving. It is 100% secure, donations come directly to the charity and donations from UK taxpayers benefit from Gift Aid, whereby 28% is added to each donation. The donating options (see below) where 'Justgiving' can be used have a 'Justgiving' link - click on the link and you will be taken to Action on Addiction's personal site, so you are just a couple of clicks away from donating!

Give in Celebration
Supporters sometimes choose to support Action on Addiction in celebration of a birthday, wedding, birth etc. by asking friends and family to donate to the charity rather than giving presents. A simple way to do this is by making a fundraising page on
Justgiving. Click on 'Create Your Page' and then select 'I am raising money for a personal occasion. A couple of steps later you will be ready to go!
Payroll Giving
Not every employer offers Payroll Giving, but if they do it is a fantastic and easy way to donate because it enables you to make a donation by simply arranging for your donation to be taken out of your monthly wage and sent straight to us. Donations are made out of income before Income Tax is taken off, which means that you are given tax relief on your donation immediately - and at your highest rate of tax.
Self-Assessment Tax Returns
As of 1st December 2010 we have a unique code so that anyone completing a self-assessment tax return has the option of donating to Action on Addiction on their tax return. The tax payer will also have the option to Gift Aid their donation, thereby making it worth 25% more to the charity.
For anyone interested in donating to our charity through the Self-Assessment Donate scheme, our charity's unique code is:
PAU86BG
Further information about this scheme can be obtained on the
HM Revenue & Customs website here.
Give in Memory
Losing a loved one is hard and people have found donating to Action on Addiction in their memory to be positive and comforting.
There are a variety of ways this can be arranged, either online by setting up an
In Memory Justgiving page or alternatively you can donate through the other donation methods referred to on this page.
Make Your Gift to us Worth More...Remember Gift Aid
Action on Addiction is able to reclaim the tax you will have paid on your donations, increasing the value at no extra cost to you.
If you are a UK taxpayer all you need to do is complete a Gift Aid declaration which is included on our
