Standards and Accreditations

Clouds House, which has been developed over more than 25 years, is accredited by the European Association for the Treatment of Addiction (EATA).

It aligns itself with formalised standards such as Quality in Alcohol and Drugs Services (QUADS) and Drug and Alcohol National Occupational Standards (DANOS).

It is still one of very few centres in the UK to have submitted to independent external evaluation.

Clouds House subscribes to the principles and practices that are encompassed by the Investors in People standard, which the Charity was awarded in 2001 and which was renewed in 2010.

Clouds House is a 38-bed centre registered (as a Care Home with Nursing) with the Care Quality Commission, who have awarded Clouds House a rating of "Excellent". The Commission's inspection reports can be viewed on its web site.

Action on Addiction is working towards accreditation from the Healthcare Accreditation & Quality Unit (HAQU) of CHKS (Caspie Healthcare Knowledge Systems) for the whole organisation which encompasses all Client Services including Clouds House.
